The Tories have destroyed your chances in life - you have a duty to kick Boris Johnson out of City Hall.

Boris Johnson doesn’t know what it is like to be a young person living in London; he doesn’t know what it’s like to grow up in a council estate in Tower Hamlets or a suburban terrace in Bexley. He is more used to a country estate and trashing restaurants for fun with his friends from the Bullingdon club.

Johnson never stood up and defended young people when the Tory led government decided to cut the Education Maintenance Allowance. Instead he stood by and allowed his Conservative friends in government to smash the hopes and dreams of thousands of young Londoners. Johnson once said that the young people are not getting jobs because they “lack the energy and appetite” This couldn’t be more wrong.

As an 18-year-old myself I know what it’s like to struggle to find employment that fits around your studies. I know I have immense amounts of energy and appetite and I know that my friends and peers do too.

London is at a crossroads. You can vote for Boris and by doing so, send a vote of confidence to his Tory friends in government… Or you can vote for Ken and The Labour Party and show David Cameron that we, as Londoners, disapprove of his double-dip recession, his cabinet in the pockets of Murdoch, the privatisation of the NHS, the cutting of EMA, the rise of university fees, the abolition of The Future Jobs Fund, the list goes on and on.

This Tory led government has made life hard for people all over the country, especially in London. This is your chance to send them a clear message to show you disapprove of what they are doing.

Thursday is going to be one of the closest elections in British political history, with Ken and Boris neck-and-neck in the polls. It is going to all come down to voter turnout.

Voting will take you as little as 10 minutes but if you don’t vote and Boris Johnson wins on Thursday, then London is in for 4 more years of a mayor who is out of touch with the people he is meant to represent.

Having Boris Johnson in City Hall is too much of a price to pay for not turning up to cast your vote. The traditional Conservative Party voter has a good record of turning up on polling day. This is why we need Labour’s vote to come out and vote for Ken.

Voting Boris Johnson in was the problem; you can be part of the solution by going to your local polling station and voting Ken Livingstone on Thursday.
